Grandmothers are mothers, too! Do not forget them on Mother’s Day.
Many of us are unable to spend Mother’s Day with our grandmothers or mothers, especially if we have families of our own. Sometimes it is distance that prevents us from being there. Sometimes it is family obligations. But, we cannot forget our mothers or grandmothers just because we cannot spend the day with them.
One of the most popular gift ideas for grandmothers is the gift basket. Many can be ordered online. However, order with care. Do not select just any old basket. Select one that is specific to grandma’s interests. They are available from many well established online sites.
However, it is suggested that you begin looking early and order early if you decide to order online. Mother’s Day is one of the busiest days of the year.
Or, while there is still time you can create a specialty basket to send. Think of your grandmother’s special interests. If she loves to cook a cookbook may be a solution. She may want a special small appliance that she will not buy for herself.
For the gardener, a basket of seeds and/or bulbs may be the perfect gift. Some grandmothers love to play bridge. New cards and scoring pads may be the answer. Other grandmothers walk for their health. A pedometer may be a good choice. Think of the things your grandmother enjoys and start there.
Remember, the special Mother’s Day gift does not have to be expensive to be appreciated. Showing thought in making the selection is as important and perhaps more appreciated than the gift itself.
